逃出不去的时间成为了无限的循环，逃不出去的空间就成为了《楚门的世界》。

对于Truman来说，更可怕的是永远无法走出去的小岛Seahaven,还是周围所有人的隐瞒、做戏与欺骗？恐怕是一个仁者见仁智者见智的问题。

Truman is a normal guy who lives in a beautiful small town.

Truman是一个住在美丽小镇的普通人。

His life seems perfect.他的生活似乎很完美。

One day, he goes to work and something strange happens.

一天，他去工作，某件奇怪的事情发生。

A metal light falls out of the sky. Truman is confused.

一个金属灯从天上掉下来。Truman感到疑惑。

He wonders where the light came from?

他想知道这个灯是从哪里来的？

Truman walks into town. He waves hello to other people.

Truman走在镇上。挥手跟其他人打招呼。

Neighbor's Daughter:"Good morning!"

Truman:"Oh! And in case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night."

Truman is kind and funny. People in his town like him.

Truman has to ride a boat to his work.

Truman因为工作必须坐船。

He almost gets on the boat, but can't.

他都快要上船了，但是也没能走上去。

He is terrified of swimming and water.

他非常怕游泳和水。

Truman sits on the beach at night.

晚上Truman坐在沙滩上。

He looks out at the water, and thinks about when he is a child.

他看着水，回想他小时候。

His father drowned at sea.

他的父亲在海里淹死。

Ever since then, he's been afraid of the water.

从那以后，他就开始怕水。

The next day, Truman sees a homeless man on the street.

第二天，Truman在街上看到一个流浪的人。

The man looks just like his father.

这个男人看起来就像他的父亲。

When Truman tries to talk to the man, he's interrupted.

正当Truman试着跟他讲话时，他被打断了。

Two people drag the man away.

有两个人把这个男人拖走了。

Truman tries to catch up, but other people get in his way and stop him.

Truman想要追上他们，但是其他人挡着他的路让他停了下来。

He remembers a girl he met in university.

他记起大学时遇到的一个女孩。

One day, they were walking on the beach.

一天，他们正走在沙滩上。

They talked for a while, and liked each other.

他们讲了一会儿话，并且都喜欢着对方。

Then she saw a car coming and got worried.

然后女孩看到一辆车子正过来，变得很担心。

She explained that nothing in the town was real. Everyone was pretending.

她解释到镇上没有任何东西是真的。每个人都在装。

Lauren:"They are pretending, Truman. Do you understand?"

“Truman，他们都在装。你明白了吗？”

Then, she was taken away by a man.

然后，她被一个男人带走了。

Truman knows that something is wrong, but doesn't know what.

Truman知道有些事有问题，但是又不知道是什么问题。

He feels that everyone is watching him.

他感觉每个人都在看着他。

Truman's wife tries to calm him down. She tells him that everything is fine.

Truman的妻子想要让他冷静下来。她告诉Truman一切都没问题。

But Truman finds his wife is lying about her work. He stops trusting her.

但是Truman发现妻子在工作职业的事上说谎了。Truman不再相信她。

Truman tries to get out of town, but nothing works.

Truman努力走出小镇，但都没成功。

There are no flights out, and his bus breaks down. He can't leave.

这里没有出去的航班，坐的巴士也出故障。他无法离开。

Bus Driver:"I'm sorry, sir."

“很抱歉，先生。”

Truman takes his car to the edge of town, and tries to drive away.

Truman驾车到小镇边上，想要开车离开。

But people stop him on the road.

但有人让他停在了路上。

Finally, he tries to run out of town.

最后，他想要跑出小镇。

Guards chase him down, and he is caught.

守卫追上了他，Truman被抓住。

Truman returns home and confronts his wife.

Truman回到家和妻子对质。

He asks her if she ever really likes him. She says yes, but he doesn't believe her.

他问妻子是否真的爱过他。她回答是，但Truman不信她。

They fight, and his wife says something strange.

他们争辩，然后妻子说了很奇怪的话。

Meryl:"Do something!"

“做点什么！”

Truman:"What? What did you say?"

“什么？你说了什么？”

Truman talks to his best friend.

Truman告诉他最好的朋友。

He tells Truman stories from when they were kids.

朋友跟Truman讲小时候的故事。

He comforts Truman, and says he would never lie to him.

他安慰Truman，说自己永远不会对他撒谎。

"The last thing that I would ever do, is lie to you."

But, everything he says is a lie. Truman's life is a TV show.

然而，他说的一切都是一个谎言。Truman的生活就是一个节目秀。

He lives in a fake town which is built in a dome.

他生活在一个建在穹顶下面的虚假小镇里。

There are hidden cameras everywhere.

这里到处都是隐藏的摄影机。

The town is full of actors who pretend to be his friends and neighbors.

镇上全都是演员，他们假装成Truman的朋友和邻居。

Even his wife and his best friend are just actors.

甚至他的妻子和最好的朋友都只是演员。

His life is a television show called "The Truman Show".

他的生活就是一档叫《Truman秀》的电视节目。

It is the most popular TV show in the world watched by many people.

这是全球最受欢迎的节目，很多人都在收看。

But Truman doesn't know this.

但Truman不知道。

He thinks his life is real, and that his friends are real.

他认为他的生活是真实的，他的朋友也是真正的朋友。

Truman has lived this way all his life.

Truman迄今为止的人生都是这样度过的。

A man named Chris sits in a control room, above the town.

一个叫Chris的坐在小镇上方的控制室内。

He's telling the best friend what to say.

他正告诉（楚门）最好的朋友应该说什么。

Chris creates The Truman Show, and controls everything in Truman's life.

Chris制作这档真人秀，并且操控Truman生活中的一切。

Chris has a plan to get Truman under control.

Chris有一个控制Truman的计划。

He brings Truman's dad back into the show.

他让Truman的父亲重新回到节目中。

Truman's Father:"My son."

“我的儿子。”

But it is just another actor. The audience are touched.

他不过是又一个演员。观众很感动。

The staff are happy that Truman believes it.

工作人员也很开心Truman相信了。

Truman seems to believe everything and goes back to his normal life.

Truman似乎相信了一切，回归正常的生活。

But one day, he disappears from the camera. People can't find him.

但有一天，他从镜头前消失了。人们找不到他。

It turns out he was just pretending.

结果证明他仅仅是假装相信。

He steals a boat from the beach and starts to sail out of town.

他从海滩上偷走了一艘船，开始驶出小镇。

Chris creates a storm to try and stop Truman. Truman didn't give up.

Chris制造出风暴想要阻止Truman。Truman没有放弃。

Finally he reaches the edge of the dome.

最终他到了穹顶边缘。

He opens a door that leads into the real world.

他打开了一扇指引现实世界的门。

Chris offers him one last chance to stay.

Chris给他最后一次留下来的机会。

He tells Truman that he can leave. Or, he could stay in this perfect town.

Chris告诉Truman他可以离开。或者，他也可以留在这个完美的小镇。

Truman smiles, waves goodbye, and says:

Truman微笑，挥着手告别，说：

"In case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night."

“假如再也见不到你，祝你早安，午安，晚安。”

Truman steps through the door.

Truman走进这扇门。

All the people watching The Truman Show are happy for him.

所有看这档节目的人都为他高兴。

He chooses freedom over a life of perfect illusion.
