tear-jerker (n.)
发音：['tiə,dʒə:kə]
指催人泪下的电影（小说或故事）
tear-jerker 前面常常加real，有强调的意味。tear-jerker 是一个复合名词，由tear 和jerker 组成，jerk 是「猛地一扯」的意思，「将眼泪拉出眼睛」就引申为「感人」之意。
例句：
I haven't cried in ages, but that movie was a real tear-jerker !
我好久没哭了，但那部电影实在太感人了！

slow-moving (adj.)
指「剧情拖泥带水的」，很慢才进入主题
例句：
I dozed off during the movie since the plot was so slow-moving.

let-down 是从短语let sb. down 转变而来，即「让某人失望」的意思。

指「令人捧腹大笑的」
hilarious比funny 的层次再高一点，有种LMAO (laughing my ass off) 的感觉。
用法很广，人事物都可以用这个字。通常hilarious 会用来形容喜剧片(comedies)，不过越来越多电影会在严肃的气氛里穿插搞笑的梗，这些片段可以说是hilarious moments。
例句：

指剧情「难以理解的」

B: I've seen it before, but I can't decide whether or not I liked it because the plot was so hard to follow .

指剧情「引人入胜的」
描述一个人坐不住、躁动的样子，只能坐在椅子的前半部分，而无法静下心来，延伸成「剧情很引人入胜」的意思。
不管是剧情太恐怖、太刺激、太令人不安，都可以用这个俚语来形容！
例句：
It was so scary! I was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing.
那部电影好可怕呀！我整场都坐立不安！
